Fundraising Tips

Put the “fun” in fundraising with these easy tips:

  • Set a fundraising goal.
  • Start a challenge within your team to see who can raise the most funds.
  • Be daring: let your supporters know that once you hit your goal you’ll do something daring like dyeing your hair blue.
  • Host a theme party and ask for donations at the door.
  • Change your voicemail to include a message that you’re fundraising for the Classic.
  • Part of a corporate team? Have an old-fashioned bake sale at your workplace. See if your employer will match your earnings.
  • Keep a donation jar on your desk.
  • Use technology! Tweet about your team; put updates on your Facebook page.
  • Put your team name in your email signature.
  • Personalize the donation-request template and send it to everyone you know.
  • Last, but not least, know your reasons – be prepared to explain why fitness and mental health matter to you.

A group who plans to fund raise, train for and participate in the race together.

No! Each team member is welcome to race at their own pace. In fact, team members can register for different events (5 km, 10 km or ½ marathon).

How many people do we need to qualify as a team?
Teams need a minimum of 3 people to register.

What does the team captain do?
The captain is your team leader. He/she will be the first to register and will create the team and serve as the contact person for the Teams Chair on the race committee.
